An easy to use word editor so that you can send rich text scraps without really knowing or typing in HTML.
This WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) Scrap Editor for orkut provides you fantastic and easy formatting options for HTML rich orkut scraps.
You can send them to your friends or post in HTML enabled forums. Do your changes and editing in the editor mode and click on the show text option below the editor to get normal scrap. It would show up all the HTML code. When in the normal scrap mode click on the Show Editor to switch to the editor.
The editor also has two options of adding a template and a signature.
- Install WYSIWYG Editor for Orkut Scraps
- Navigate to your scrapbook and use the editor.
- In case you use signatures below your scraps, you would have to edit the script. The procedure has been discussed below.
- Save the script to your desktop and open it in the notepad.
- Search for the part displayed below.
var nonfriendtemplate=”\\n———————————————\\nAll that glitters is not gold“;
- The text between the quotes “” is your signature.
- Edit the text to set your desired signature and Save.
- Now Install the Script.
- Follow this tutorial if you face any problem.
Thanks Praveen Reddy for The script

Did you try disabling other scripts that are running?
ok, i got it once i create the scrap i should click on show test & then it posts the scrap. only upsetting thing is that we cant post the scrap directly without switching to show text mode, I request the editor to please update the script in a few months in which we can directly post through editor…. anyways 4/5 for this wonderful script.
I don’t face this issue of having to click on Show Text to Post Scrap. If i dont get the issue i can’t fix it up.
Its alright, I already got used to posting scrap through show text so dont worry but if you face this issue any time please fix it up buddy, Thanks again
i havent installed it yet
jus wanted to know do i need fire fox n greasemonkey to use it or it can e used with opera 9.52\???
@tanmay – you can run userscripts in opera.
1. – Download your script to a directory of your choice, i.e. C:Scripts.
2 – Open Opera, and go to Tools->Preferences.
3 – Click on the “Advanced” tab and select “Content”.
4 – Now click “JavaScript Options…” and set “User JavaScript files” to the directory you chose before.
Thanks Digitalalchemy
I haven’t checkd if it works with Opera or not.
A Small note.
To modify the template or signature you need not reinstall the script. Just modify the file from the locatin greasemonkey stores it. It is stored in user profile folder.
On my windows box it is stored under this path.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\mtb11szr.default\gm_scripts\orkut_wysiwyg_scrap_edit
