Orkut has introduced a very important update to all orkut community owners. Orkut community owners can now select if they want to restrict their community members from creating any new topics or polls.

This is a very important update since we are aware of the menace of topic flooding in the communities which always leave a bad taste. Though orkut community owners can select the option of only letting owners and moderators create new topics but members can reply and participate in those topics.

Similarly, owner can restrict poll creation to owners and moderators, but members can participate by casting their votes.

You too can make your community topic and poll creation restricted. Just navigate to edit profile option in your community options. At the lower section, you will see the options to restrict community members from posting new topics and polls.
